Head of Program - Swimming

MLC School is seeking a committed and experienced coach to lead our team with integrity and fervour as our Head of Program – Swimming.

The ideal candidate for our team is one who has a great enthusiasm for coaching and a passion for management.

 

Following direction from both aquatic centre management and the Director of Sports, you would be committed to our goals and be able to work well in a team-oriented environment.

You would be a great communicator with a proven track record coaching swimmers at a national level.

We are looking for a self-motivated and inspiring individual who has the potential to grow our junior and senior squads to discover the best they can be.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Organise and implement effective and cohesive sessions and season plans for junior and senior programs
  • Assist the Aquatic Centre Manager and Director of Sports to ensure awareness and promote educational programs provided
  • Record management – creating and filing records of business activity as required
  • Assist by advising with matters to do with swimming instruction and coaching
  • Work with the Head of PDHPE to develop aquatic based programs and increase the profile of swimming as part an established talent identification program
  • Attend MLC School swimming club's and school teams targeted carnival

It is essential that you have: 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Head coaching role at Secondary School Level  
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • Silver Coaching Certificate
  • Proven success at national age and open level
  • Senior First Aid Certificate, CPR/Advanced Resuscitation Certificate
  • Knowledge of club, and NSW swimming operation
  • Sports Management or Sports Science Degree/Diploma (desirable)
